We have a position for a SAP Enterprise Portal Consultant ( JAVA J2EE / XML / MAC OS / ABAP ) in Los Angeles, CA IMMEDIATE START ( 8/20/12 or sooner ) DURATION - 8 months Contract ( Extension depending on client ) 2 LOCATIONS -- North CA / South CA – would be informed later. CANDIDATES HAVE TO PASS A BACK GROUND CHECK Interviews for the right candidate will be set up ASAP The job description is as follows : --B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience, M.S. in Computer Science a plus. -- At least 4- 5 years of SAP Enterprise Portal experience. -- Should have worked on Enterprise Portal 7. Knowledge or working experience on EP 7.3 is a plus. -- Solid knowledge of web technologies such as Java, J2EE (EJBs, servlets,JSP,Struts) Application Servers, -- Portal Applications and Standards, Content Management Systems, AJAX, JavaScript and XML technologies. -- Excellent Java programing skills and should have worked on Portal Development Kit. -- Significant Knowledge & experience on Portal Themes, layouts, desktops etc. -- Experience using JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, Web DynPro, XML, WSDL, SOAP and related web services technologies -- Should have worked with javascript / CSS support for multiple browsers such as IE, Firefox, Safari etc -- Implement and maintain enterprise portal iView configurations/integrations and perform iView Development (J2EE) to enhance business processes -- Configure and administer Netweaver Portal components including iViews, Pages, Worksets, and Business Packages including role integration with ERP. -- This includes coordination of application upgrades and installations, support testing, and ensure consistency of the application. -- Knowledge on MAC OS Environment & ABAP would be an added advantage. Responsibilities -- Create Portal Components based on Abstract Portal Components and JSP. -- Develop Portal Menu Navigation, Create new Portal Themes, Modify SAP Portal Masthead as required for projects. -- Create new iViews,Pages, Worksets, Roles and apply custom theme. -- Work with project managers to plan the development activities. -- Work with the business users to understand the requirements and propose alternative solutions. -- Able to interact with all levels of an organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner. -- Stay current with latest SAP Portal technologies and evolving requirements
