Applications Migration Architect London �465 per day Our client, an IT company providing technology solutions, is looking for an Applications Migration Architect to work on a 4 months contract, based in London. What is the project? This is a major contract to maintain and support the application portfolio which is used by the various operations of the end client. As part of this contract the transition team has to take over the application development, maintenance and support of a number of applications. The take on of the support of these applications requires the creation of a number of development and test environments and the migration of the supporting code and system design and support artefacts into the development tools and code repositories. Responsibilities: Work with the PM to manage the plan for the migration activities including: * Supervise and provide technical governance on the environment builds and the migration of code and other artefacts in the format agreed * Liaise with the Infrastructure team to ensure that the required infrastructure environments are built to specification and are available as required. * Based on the analysis of the architecture of the applications conducted by support the PM in managing the plan for the build of the various development and test environments which will be required for the on-going support and maintenance of the applications. * Manage the delivery of the plan in conjunction with the Workstream Lead to deliver the successful migration of the artefacts and build of the environments to support completion of transition according to the agreed transition plan. Deliverables Migrated application development and test environments sufficient to meet the needs of the teams in supporting the migrated applications. Supporting architecture documentation for the environments as agreed with the teams. Top requirements: - Applications Migration Architect - Windows, Linux (Red Hat Linux = RHEL), IBM AIX, with experience of working closely with third-party partners - Java, .Net, Oracle, SQL Server. And virtualisation experience of Windows/Linux environments using VMware ESX technologies -IBM Rational Toolset incl.
