Are you an experienced book production controller looking to work on an exciting high profile trade list? If so, the production department of this well-known trade publisher has an opportunity to work on a diverse range of well-known and award-winning titles, which co-print in many languages. This is initially a 6 month contract so candidates who are available will be given priority. The role will be responsible for the creation and delivery of product for the various global markets across these high profile lists and will liaise with both creative and sales teams to help create the most innovative and suitable product for the market. You will be responsible for all aspects of your list from conception to delivery including costing, scheduling, quality control and general problem solving. Some experience of safety testing and books plus would be useful but is not essential. You should be able to prioritise your work and have a keen and efficient manner and able to negotiate favourable costing for all titles. You will have a great eye for detail as this role requires you to create detailed and complex scheduling plans. This is an excellent role which includes all the production mix and the successful candidate will understand the role of a senior production controller in a fast-paced commercial environment. You will have relevant demonstrable experience from a similar 4 colour book publishing background; be adept at building and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers, creative and sales colleagues and a first rate communicator. You will be enthusiastic, proactive and able to demonstrate a high level of efficiency with excellent time management skills.
