A leading independent financial technology provider is looking to hire a Java developer. Experience of developing in the investment banking environment is preferred but not essential. This is a key role in a small team of highly motivated developers who are building the next generation of Execution Management Systems. Key Responsibilities The candidate should be able to identify requirements from key stakeholders, take the project through full life cycle phases and development. Develop new ideas to a level sufficient for production release. Job Requirements We are looking for a J2EE developer with experience of developing enterprise-level web applications. The ability to work without external motivation and an appreciation of client time constraints is essential. The application uses a mix of MySQL stand-alone and cluster databases, Hibernate, Spring, Tomcat, JSP & Java. The candidate should have experience of all these. Experience of low-latency messaging would be very useful, but a demonstrable understanding of web application development will be expected. The candidate must be willing to work equally on server-side Java code as well as GUI library integration. They should also be able to program using SQL, stored procedures and JPA when connecting to the database.
