My client runs a competition where aeroplanes are judged in a competition under several different categories. I am looking for proposals to create a web-based application whereby competition entrants can submit their entries online, judges can print-off judging sheets for each entry to record scores manually on the airfield, then enter the scores via the web interface to generate a report that displays the winner of each category based on the scores entered. The workflow runs like this: 1. Entrant posts entry via web page, providing personal details, aircraft details, and selecting the category they wish to enter. The data they need to submit varies according to which category / categories they select. 2. Judges or administrators can view the entry data via a secure portal grouped in tabular form or individually, and output a batch of pdf reports or multi-page pdf for printing of the individual judging sheets. These judging sheets contain entrant data and fields for recording scores (see attached "judging sheet.pdf"). 3. The printed judging sheets are filled in by the judges on the airfield. Judges can also securely access an online copy of the judging sheets, to enter their scores directly into the database using a laptop or iPad with internet connectivity. 4. Once all aircraft are judged, scores that are recorded manually on the printed judging sheets are entered into the database via the web portal. 5. Once all scoring data is entered, a report is run that displays the winner of each category. (Note - the 'optional categories' are based subjectively on merit, so will not need to have scores entered into the database.) 6. An archive step is performed that stores the entrant and winner data for the current airshow event. This data is referenced at the next event as previous winners in certain categories are not allowed to enter in the same category at the next event. Attached is: • Wireframe mockup of the entry forms - 'entry forms.pdf' • Example of entrant data in tabular form with scores • Judging sheet example - 'judging sheet.pdf' Deployment: We will host the web app on our own server if it meets requirements, otherwise the app can be hosted externally. Evolution: Categories of competition and entry requirements often change from event to event. Ideally we would like to be able to edit the forms to modify, add or remove categories, and edit the text descriptions and instructions. If the app can be created within a WordPress or similar CMS environment that would be ideal. Best regards, John.
