Please see job description below; Summary: Installs and routes communications cabling at an advanced level and provides move, add and change services in an efficient and professional manner by performing the following duties. Installation of network equipment to include switches and routers with associated patching. (Rack and stack) Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Installs fiber and copper cable in ceiling, conduits and raised floors; routes cable within walls and modular furniture • Performs basic testing and troubleshooting of cable • Terminates copper station cabling • Circuit identification and connection to network equipment • Will require network address configuration with laptop • Reads and interprets floor plans • Terminates copper and fiber station cabling • Tests cable and ensure accuracy of cable testing, documentation and storage • Performs testing, troubleshooting, and resolution of cable faults • Terminates and dresses communications closets according to BICSI standards • Performs cabling and PBX/phone moves, adds or changes • Performs basic troubleshooting of network hardware • Manages time, material and labor through job completion within cost parameters • Performs basic estimating functions • Generates and manages work orders, change orders, daily site journal and other project documentation This is a short term assignment covering the on-site tech while he is on vacation.
