Job description: In need of a design-minded programmer to create the necessary tools to get this site off the ground. Will need easy-to-use database inputs and, more importantly, someone who is able to implement a high-performance chart-based GUI to display those inputs to site visitors. Think clean aesthetic, utilitarian purpose, and highly functional display. The goal is to guide visitors to the right purchase for their needs and do that better than anyone else has through sliders and checkboxes to narrow the search. Design Type: New Website Purpose of the Website: Ecommerce Number of Pages to be Designed: 6 or more Description of Each Page: Will need a home page, the chart-based page, a Glossary page, About Us page, and Compare page. There may be other needs that come up over the course of the project. Websites with a Similar Style or Look: The goal is to create a site based around interactive charts similar to what you find here: /lineup/lens/positioningmap/ Other features may borrow from sites like DPreview, which has a good array of appropriate search features: /products/search/lenses Additional Comments: The aesthetic needs to be minimalistic (think Apple's site) without unnecessary sidebars or other items that would create clutter. A logo still needs to be created, but thinking a fun lime green primary color might set the site off nicely. We need to offset the utilitarian nature of the site with a sense of fun and fantastic GUI above all else. I do have a mockup created for a very basic beginning to work from.
