DUTIES The eCAPS AIX UNIX System Administrator shall perform the duties listed below: Provide lead eCAPS AIX system administrator support for the creation, preparation, validation, and testing of the upgrade environment for AIX production and non-production systems as designed by the lead OSS AIX system architect. Participate actively in support of the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) backup system following established standards and guidelines. Participate actively in support of the PowerBroker privileged identity management application following established standards and guidelines. Provide AIX technical consulting services and custom configurations for hosted eCAPS applications. Maintain and administer AIX server installations, including troubleshooting, problem resolution, and 24 x 7 x 365 on-call after hours and weekend support. Follow and enhance existing eCAPS AIX server installation, configuration and management standards and procedures based on industry best practices. Maintain and enhance the disaster recovery solution for eCAPS AIX servers. Monitor and perform capacity planning for eCAPS AIX server installations. Provide technical assistance to Database Administrator (DBA) staff, Enterprise Storage Administration staff, application staff, and the Auditor-Controller customer. Document all technical work and enhance existing documentation. Mentor County staff in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of eCAPS AIX, providing knowledge transfer as a regular part of the day-to-day duties. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Four (4) years’ experience in the last six (6) years as a systems administrator installing, configuring, and updating AIX 5L, 6L and 7L on IBM pSeries hardware. Three (3) years’ experience in the last five (5) years as a Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) systems administrator installing, configuring, and supporting TSM 5.x and above. Two (2) years’ experience within the last three (3) years as a PowerBroker systems administrator installing, configuring, and supporting PowerBroker. Five (5) years’ experience in the last seven (7) years as a UNIX systems administrator managing servers in an enterprise environment consisting of 100 or more servers. Two (2) years’ experience in the last three (3) years implementing and administering PowerVM virtualization technologies (virtual I/O) on IBM System p servers. Three (3) years’ experience in the last four (4) years maintaining Unix and/or Perl scripts used for the automation of system monitoring and maintenance procedures.
