Upp is now seeking a: Director of Application Development to be responsible for setting strategic direction for the Application Development Group. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide guidance to Application Development Managers on the application development project and resource management issues including reviewing project requests, setting project priority and overseeing major development activities. Utilize practical and hand-on experience to guide application development in order to increase department productivity and reducing defects. Serve as an IT ambassador with responsibilities to strengthen the relationship between IT and the business and promote project management culture throughout the organization. Collaborate with other CIO direct-reports to set direction for the IT department to continually improve IT service and quality. EXPERIENCE: 10 years of Director or Management level experience. Background experience utilizing .NET, IBM WebSphere and Open Source as well as CICS COBOL, Visual Basic and J2EE development platforms. Healthcare or insurance experience is desired. PMI certification is a plus. Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems and 15 years of IT experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
