Our client is seeking a Workstation PC Technician for their Los Angeles, California location to support a robust Microsoft based network running XP, Windows 7 and Lotus Notes. Specific Duties: Site assessment to locate and collect PC names to create a cutover spreadsheet Site assessment to locate and collect network printer information to add to the cutover spreadsheet Assist local IT with creating print queues Coordinate with local IT in submitting service requests to the appropriate IT support groups Reconfigure static IP on the printer Remote into PC to delete old mapping Update the printer mapping on the PC to point to the new updated print queue using the WARP and CAPTUR tools Provide updated list to the PM so the old print queues and ports can be coordinated for deletion Responsibilities: Manage incoming and outgoing assets Prepare systems for deployment Scan existing asset for applications and settings Interview clients to identify special considerations and other settings Use company tools to execute PC activity Collaborate with teammates to identify process improvements Escalate quickly when issues arise Assist other technicians as needed Under the guidance of IT representatives, duties may include some or all of the following: receiving assets, moving equipment within and/or between facilities, staging equipment for build/image activity, interviewing clients as part of pre-deployment asset discovery, executing equipment replacement activity, updating asset management system to reflect work performed, monitoring daily activity, installing and maintaining PC hardware and software, troubleshooting network usage and computer peripherals. Activity may also involve transporting equipment using a vehicle provided by supplier / contractor between multiple facilities within an assigned service area, as directed by an IT representative. The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): Minimum 3 years experience with PC hardware troubleshooting and repair Minimum 2 year experience with direct client interaction Experience with PC/LAN support, IP addressing, and Windows XP Written and verbal skills Customer service skills High school diploma or GED Server, PC, MAC and laptop expertise Ability to lift PCs or printers weighing under 30 lbs. if needed. Minimum 3 years experience with PC support, including deployment Minimum 2 year experience with direct client interaction Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Adaptable to change in process or required activities Attention to detail Quick learner Professional appearance and behavior, including punctuality
