Aavalar Consulting has been contracted by a financial services client in the Western suburbs of Philadelphia to provide a Test Automation Consultant who will be in charge of automating QA testing of Web Applications. This consultant will work as part of a team within the Quality Assurance and Test group. W ho does this position will report to?: Director of Software QA Why is there a need for a consultant/contractor? >Rapidly increasing workload due to growth. What is the start date of the contract?: ASAP What is the anticipated length/scope of the contract?: > 6 month initial contract to long term What is the size of department?: TBD... Depends how you count it but definitely growing (domain expertise is grouped by about 6 each) What projects will the consultant be involved with?: > Ongoing testing and QA of complex financial reports Responsibilities: > Design common patterns, develop, and execute/monitor automated testing tools > Participate in automated regression testing > Interact with QA Management team to address staffing needs and any specific resource issues > Research, Analyze, Suggest and implement effective automated tools options and assess their fit relative to how they would apply to the business processes > Participate in discussions with development teams to anticipate impact on automation project and suggests solutions to expedite automation. > Work with the project requirements and QA team members to define automation requirements > Work with stakeholders to ensure various automation tools will work together to meet the objectives and performance goals. > Integrate all requirements for the platform including functional, security, quality, and operations requirements. > Provide reference and templates to other QA/Development teams with automation methodologies and procedures > Obtain stakeholder buy-in for automation designs. > Lead the automation technical architecture analysis, design, development, and implementation to ensure the tools fulfills the requirements. > Determine how the automation tools will be supported and maintained for future use. > Review and provide guidance for the automation deliverables (automated scripts) throughout development, execution, and implementation. > Identify and communicate any cross-area or cross-release issues that may affect other areas of the project.
