We are looking for a French Translator (IT) and a French Lead Translator. The French Translator should be web savvy, resourceful, and creative to take responsibility for translations related to multiple content types such as: • Monetization • Commerce products • Mobile products • Geo positioning and geography • Geo-CAD related • Heavy technical: CodeSite (and APIs), Webmaster Tools • General consumer • Light Legal The Lead Translator’s primary purpose is to ensure that the expected level of translation quality is secured and the product delivered to the client is fit for purpose at all times. Major responsibilities will include: •Perform on demand and planned translation, review, and quality control tasks related to the product dealing with jobs of a transactional and traditional nature •When additional resources are required to deal with larger volumes within deadlines, coordinate the activities of a small team of translators and take ownership of the overall quality output of the group •Centralize product expertise and knowledge according to customer expectations and act as key product point of contact in the French language within Welocalize •Collect client feedback and updates and distribute material to all translators/vendors involved •Analyze client feedback and assist with remedial action plans •Monitor quality metrics, customer feedback and vendor performance •Communicate with client reviewer •Inform the Project Manager of progress status as required and show initiative to solve quality and deadline issues in a timely manner •Manage product-related queries •Test and qualify new resources as required •Train and support new staff and vendors according to needs of the account •Advise on resource selection upon request, taking into account previous experience and short-term and long-term needs •Achieve the goals set by the French Language Delivery Manager and the global account team This position will require occasional travel.
