Electrician Technician
Repairs and Maintains machinery and equipment: mixers, conveyors, stackers/destackers, heaters, scissors lifts, etc. Installs and repairs equipment, including electrical equipment Starts, stops and operates equipment to diagnoses equipment failures, determine cause, repair, and troubleshoot Dismantles devices to gain access and repair/replace defective parts Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments Sets up and operates welder, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines Troubleshoots programmable Logic control systems and control wiring to determine problems Repairs/replaces control devices: switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contact blocks, motor starters, etc. Knows location of all equipment in the plant Shares Concerns about unsafe conditions with fellow workers and safety department Handles, stores, and uses hazardous chemicals in accordance with safe procedures as specified on the labels and material safety data sheets. Properly executes Confined Space Entry and Lock Tag Try procedures. Understands and executes Emergency Action Plans and Procedures related to the work area. Participates actively in all safety programs established in the plant. Keeps work are clean and free of hazards. Leads efforts to reduce sources of waste. Properly disposes of any wastes generated. Makes proper notification on environmental upset, releases, and or hazardous material spills according to procedures. Basic computer skills, and the ability to read and interpret documents of instructions are a must. You'll be calculating figures and amounts using basic algebra and geometry concepts. Experience with Allen Bradley PLC Hardware/Software, Variable speed drives, hydraulics, pneumatics is necessary, and skill with 120v control wiring and 3 phase 480v motor starters is required.
