Project Overview Deploy VMWare View 5.1 on Cisco UCS platform. We plan on creating a 120-user environment (eventually expanding to 200) using linked-clones (non-persistent images). The users will use their current desktop for View client access but we will also test Wyse terminals in parallel. 80 of the users will be at the data center site and the remaining users will be at several remote sites. We will have one golden image in the initial rollout. We have enterprise licensed SEP (Symantec Endpoint Protection) for antivirus which will be used at the hypervisor-level. We have 5 blades on each UCS chassis that can be devoted to View. The plan would be to use one blade on each chassis for a test/dev bed and the remainder for production. We will also need remote access for mobile devices (e.g. iPads). Documentation would also need to be created.
