A Kforce client, located in Pensacola, Florida, is seeking a PC Technician to perform the following duties: Perform system diagnostics using both vendor and system supplied tool sets Set-up, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software applications Provide first line system support for technical support to corporate systems Coordinate implementation of new systems (hardware and software) for departmental users Coordinate implementation of upgrades (hardware and software) for departmental users Initiate corrective action where required and within the scope of knowledge and authority Set-up and operate computer peripheral devices and free-standing computer support equipment Coordinate installation of new equipment with department and others as appropriate Coordinate relocation of any existing equipment with user departments Assemble hardware upon arrival of shipment Train users on basic use of new equipment upon installation Handle equipment problem telephone calls with user departments and follow-up Work with technical support personnel on system administrator functions such as: System Security, disk maintenance and performance tuning; Operating Systems administration and Operating System upgrades / maintenance PC Technician Qualifications: Should possess good mathematic, logic, and communication skills as well as technical computer skills with Personal Computers (PCs. Printers, Desktop software, Windows XP and Windows 7), problem diagnosing, documentation writing, task estimation, and implementation of computer systems Should possess skills necessary to accomplish analysis and design of computer systems, and problem resolution Installation Troubleshooting Diagnostic and Repair PC Technical Knowledge Additional Skills: Lotus notes email experience is a plus Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent education A College Degree will be a plus
