Business Analyst with Healthcare background
Summary Responsible for partnering with business/user group representatives to understand business requirements and underlying informational and business process needs. After translating those needs into formal, documented business requirements, the Business Analyst will act as a bridge from business vision into technical realization of a solution. Assist Project Management with coordination of development efforts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, and task/workflow analysis. Interview business sponsors & subject matter experts to understand and create Business Needs, Features and Functional requirements. Facilitate requirements JAD sessions with key business members. Facilitates meetings and makes presentations related to business requirements. Facilitate estimation and resource planning efforts. Document, define and review detailed business needs, business features and functional requirements. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and identifying the underlying needs/requirements driving user requests. Be involved with all phases of development (analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment). Work closely with developers and architects to define and deploy business solutions. Review test plans with testing group to ensure business requirements are met. Interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. Act as a Proxy for business during development. Assist with prioritizing requirements based on business benefit/impact and cost. Identify issues and risks related to project or system. Act as the liaison between business/user group representatives and system development personnel during development efforts. Analyze impact of proposed solution across the business and contribute a business or process perspective during design reviews. Review project deliverables, including technical specifications, test plans and scripts. Assist with the identification and triage of application/solution issues. Assist with support of newly developed applications through the unique combination of business and system analysis, quality assurance and post-implementation product support. Mentors and provides feedback and direction to less experienced Business Analysts. Reviews BAI project deliverables providing guidance and recommendations. Manages and reports project analysis deadlines and schedules. Communicates and applies project standards. Recruiting Requirements Bachelors degree, or equivalent experience, in business, technology or related field Minimum 3 to 5+ years experience in gathering and developing business need, business features and functional requirements for complex applications Minimum 3 to 5+ years progressive experience in business solution design and development Ability to manage and negotiate customer requirements or demands Ability to translate business requirements into technical terms Exceptional listening, written and verbal communication skills Excellent attention to detail Excellent customer service skills Personal characteristics include flexibility, teamwork, self starter, commitment to achieving objectives, thoroughness, and commitment to quality Broad knowledge of multiple technologies and a thorough understanding of platforms/applications/services and software products Strong skills using Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project) Experience with multiple software development methodologies, including agile, is a plus Experience with HP Quality Center for requirements, is a plus 2 to 4 years health insurance industry experience desirable SKILLS NA Synectics is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
