We are currently working with a prestigious IT consulting business that is looking for an Applications Migration Architect. This role is based in London and is a 4 month contract. You will support and maintain the application portfolio used across various operations of the end client. The support of these applications will involve the creation of test and development environments as well as the migrations of all supporting code and support artefacts into the development tools and code repositories. You will work with the PM to manage the plan for the migration activities including: • Supervise and provide technical governance on the environment builds and the migration of code and other artefacts in the format agreed • Liaise with the Infrastructure team to ensure that the required infrastructure environments are built to specification and are available as required. • Manage the delivery of the plan in conjunction with the Workstream Lead to deliver the successful migration of the artefacts and build of the environments to support completion of transition according to the agreed transition plan. To be successful in this role you will have experience working with Windows, Linux (Red Hat) and IBM AIX. You will also have a strong knowledge of Java, .NET, Oracle, SQL server and virtualisation experience using VMWare ESX. Additionally it would be good to have worked with IBM Rational Toolset.
