The Opportunity An expanding international business based in South Leicestershire is seeking to appoint a Buyer to cover maternity leave for approx 8 to 12 months My client offers customers worldwide a comprehensive of products and is a market leader in their sector. The Role: You will assist in purchasing parts and accessories from manufacturers and suppliers from the UK, Europe and the Far East. Negotiating with suppliers and ensuring the company's QA policies within their product and distribution network are adhered to. The Candidate: Experience as a Buyer is essential, ideally but not essentially within manufacturing, engineering or distribution. You will need to demonstrate you are a quick learner with a sharp mind who will bring a fresh perspective and the confidence to accept new challenges. You will also need to be mentally agile with numbers and logical in your approach to negotiating, problem solving and presenting proposals. You will need to be a very good communicator too, liaising with manufacturing and design colleagues, suppliers and other buyers. An engineering based qualification and a CIPS qualification will be a distinct advantage however not essential The successful candidate will be confident, assertive, able to communicate effectively and be commercially astute in a competitive business environment.
