Embedded Software Engineer Telecoms Birmingham Based £300-320 per day The Company: The client is a leading supplier of quality telecommunications services and products who play a key part in the group's global manufacturing, R&D and service infrastructure. The company operate a modern, high-capacity manufacturing facility as well as product design and development functions. Telecommunications services include first-class installation, maintenance, network operation, support and civil engineering capabilities. The Job: The role is with the Embedded Software Team in the Engineering Department and reports to the Software Team Lead. The Engineering team are a key fact of the company's product and technology portfolio. The role involves the following key responsibilities: Development of embedded software for telecommunications equipment. Liasing with development partners. Assisting the team working on related areas. Production of design documentation. Your Experience / Qualifications: The essential skills for the project are: ZigBee and trust center / security experience 3G stacks and APIs. microcontroller experience C/C++ test good embedded software experience c/c++ design and implementation, at driver, application or both levels (not windows applications). embedded application experience than board bring up / driver Board bring up is the short term requirement If you have been involved with smart technologies then that would be better still, that is wireless technologies, protocol stacks, zigbee, smart meters, smart in general etc. Your Profile: To succeed in this role you will ideally be qualified to at least degree level (or equivalent) in a related engineering or computing subject, and have proven experience in a telecommunications or related industry. You must be able to work on your own initiative and in a proactive manner . This is an extremely fast paced environment and you'll need to be able to work to aggressive time-scales, in a pressurised and commercially focused environment. Your ability to work with multi-disciplined teams both internally and externally is key, given the company's increasing strategic alliances with third party developers.
