Technical Author Location: Helensburgh Rate: �27923 - �31799 Contract: 15 months fixed term Job Description We wish to appoint a Technical Author - Electrical for a fixed term period of 15 months, to be an integral part of the Marine and Technology Division at Clyde, driving continual improvement and 'best practice' within our organisation. The successful candidate will be able to write maintenance and repair documentation for all registered assets including Nuclear Safety Implicated assets in HMNB Clyde (Faslane & Coulport) to provide production departments with detailed instructions to maintain assets in a serviceable condition. Documents shall reflect the manufacturers� criteria, good engineering practice, Safety Case requirements, Health and Safety Legislation and the Authorisation Conditions. Responsibilities � Production of Preventative Maintenance documentation for registered assets. Work will be detailed in step by step format for each periodicity required. � Timely production of NSI Work Procedures and Work Instructions to meet production deadlines. Documents shall include all detailed technical instructions for the fitting, repair or modification of assets to Nuclear Safety Implicated standards. � Carry out site visits to inspect assets and environment to assess operational context. Technical review and update existing Maintenance Schedules before expiry date. Review NSI Schedules annually and Non NSI Schedules 5 yearly as programmed on the Schedule Database Review Plan. This includes Electrical, Mechanical, Building & Civil Engineering, Constructive and Defence Contract disciplines. � Timely add new registered assets to preventative maintenance regime writing new maintenance documentation as necessary. � Liaise with Production, Design Authority, Manufacturer and Nuclear Safety authorities. Collate and edit documentation with agreed technical changes/amendments. � Establish measures that demonstrate delivery performance within the area of responsibility, either for you or as part of the team. These measures need to be updated on a monthly basis. Qualifications & Requirements Essential � Experience in maintenance schedule documentation writing or in an estates maintenance environment. � HNC or equivalent in electrical, mechanical, manufacturing or business. � Competent user of MS toolkit particularly MS Word. � Proven ability to �communicate� and operate at all Levels within the Organisation with minimal direction articulating clearly and concisely project status at any time. Desirable � Sound practical knowledge of BS7671, ESRP01, SCADA & HV Systems and familiarity with safety standards and practices associated with a nuclear authorised site. � Familiarity with safety standards and practices associated with a nuclear authorised site.
