Senior Unix System Administrator (12-15097) Pyramid Consulting has an IMMEDIATE need for a Senior Unix Systems Administrator with our direct client, A Global Telecommunications Firm. This position is based in Mesa, AZ. Client will consider all candidates who are authorized to work in US. Out-of-town candidates will be considered for this position. What you will do: You will support the full range of Operations Support (servers, storage, backups, middleware, web front-end) from Installation to ongoing support across Production, Development and Test environments. Location: Mesa, AZ Expected Duration: (12) Months Job Description :- Candidate should have minimum BS Degree in related field Strong technical background in UNIX system administration with 7-10 years of experience in a production environment. Must have strong knowledge and working experience in Installation, Upgrade, Configuration, Troubleshooting and Performance monitoring of RedHat Linux, Sun and high-end Enterprise Class and Midrange Servers, and Mid-Range/Workgroup Storage from Hitachi in a mission-critical production environment. This position will support the full range of Operations Support (servers, storage, backups, middleware, web front-end) from Installation to ongoing support across Production, Development and Test environments. A strong willingness and desire to learn (self-learner) and to stretch competencies is a must. Ability to multitask effectively and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment. Highly motivated individual who should be a good technical lead with high productivity and efficiency to meet day-2-day needs and project deliverables Should have strong fundamentals and working knowledge of Veritas Volume Manager, Cluster and Filesystem. Installation & Support of middleware, freeware and third party tools like open ssh, gnu compiler, etc. Should have sound fundamental knowledge of basic TCP/IP networking principles. Required to do 24x7 pager support in production environment with remote access to fix or coordinate problems. Good communication skills (written and verbal) needed to effectively interact with a diverse group of customers, developers, testers, administrators, and project team.
