Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer system… Pyramid Consulting Group has a Buffalo NY area client with an immediate need for an experienced DATAWAREHOUSE/TERADATA PROGRAMMER/ANALYST. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Capture business needs into system requirements; *Create/maintain document for source target data mapping and translation rules; * Understand business objectives and problems, identifies alternative solutions, performs feasibility studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives; * Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program; * Reviews computer system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system; * Prepares specifications to detail operations to be performed by equipment and computer programs and operations to be performed by personnel in system; * Plans and prepares technical reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals as documentation of program development; * Upgrades system and corrects errors to maintain system after implementation. The client is looking for the following background and experience: *Bachelor's degree; * Working experience in Teradata, data warehouse requirements gathering and analysis; * At least six years experience in technology/system analysis or operational support environment, or equivalent combination; * High aptitude for complex problem analysis and resolution; * Experience with large scale data warehouse environments required; * Understanding of data, ETL and BI required; *Knowledge of Teradata and Informatica preferred; and * Excellent project management skills.
