Finance Officer
Finance Officer Based: Leeds Salary: £25,555 PA Fixed term up until 30th of April 2013 due to specific project funding Key words; Finance Officer, Finance Manager, Finance Assistant, Assistant Accountant, Accounts Assistant Please note that an application form must be completed to be considered for this position, forms will be emailed when your CV application has been received. We require a Finance Officer to provide an effective and efficient contract, cash and finance management service for the Higher Apprenticeship project. Applicants should have an excellent knowledge of finance systems and be educated to A-level or equivalent and be AAT qualified / part qualified CCAB/QBE or equivalent. You should have previous experience of managing budgets, using bespoke databases and accounting software packages and have Extensive experience of producing and analysing management reports using data collected from various sources. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Maintain contract, cash, budget monitoring and internal control systems in order to facilitate the correct financial management of contracts in accordance with Standing Financial Instructions and audit requirements that are required by European Social Fund (ESF). 2. Review contract documentation prior to issuing and then raise Purchase Orders on the finance system. 3. Responsible for ensuring all project related Income, Receipts and Payments are posted onto the finance system in a timely and accurate manner. 4. Responsible for compiling the funding Period Returns to be signed off by the Project Manager and processing through the sales ledger on the finance system. 5. Provide a budgetary control service and undertake financial administration to ensure partners receive correct payments in accordance with milestones and contractual amounts. 6. To support the Management Accountant, Financial Coordinator and Contracts Manager in ensuring effective financial, cash and contracting reporting systems are maintained, developed and embedded within the organisation. 7. Producing and analysing finance data, which includes creating bespoke reports and checking nominal postings with attention to accuracy. 8. To maintain and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the administration process surrounding the Higher Apprenticeship Project 9. To provide and assess monthly payments/contractual reports and cash-flow information in order to make recommendations to the Contracts Manager, Management Accountant and Financial Coordinator. 10. Attend meetings, as required, providing updated information on contracting and finance and feeding back any areas of concern in order to identify appropriate solutions.
