TAD PGS, INC. is currently seeking a Database Administrator with an Active Secret Clearance, for one of our clients in Fort Knox , KY. Description: Participates in the design, creation, and maintenance of computerized databases Responsible for the quality control and auditing of databases Works with management to develop database strategies to support organization requirements Consults with and advises users on access to various databases Works directly with users to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate data usage Directs the maintenance and use of the corporate data dictionary Responsibilities: Installing and upgrading the Oracle server and application tools Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system Creating primary database storage structures (tablespaces) after application developers have designed an application Creating primary objects (tables, views, indexes) once application developers have designed an application Modifying the database structures Enrolling users and maintaining system security Ensuring compliance with your Oracle license agreement Controlling and monitoring user access to the database Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database Planning for backup and recovery of database information Maintaining archived data on tape Backing up and restoring the database Qualifications: Oracle 10 certification Solaris 10 System administrator associate or professional certification. Security+ or better Bachelor’s degree in IT or CS with 6+ years of Database/Systems Administration support experience. ALL CANDIDATES MUST BE U.S. CITIZENS AND POSSESS AN ACTIVE GOVERNMENT "SECRET" SECURITY CLEARANCE Skills: Unix DBA (prefer Solaris); Oracle versions 10g, 11g; Installs, upgrades, patches (CPU, PSU); RMAN (catalog, nocatalog); Datapump; Data Guard; Oracle EM (dbcontrol); Performance Tuning (using AMM). Certified Solaris Unix V10 and above; familiar with Oracle database V10 and above; familiar with SAN/NAS storage array design and configuration; familiar with Weblogic application, version 11g. Concentrated experience in UNIX and Sun Solaris with working knowledge of Java, XML, XML Spy, Oracle, SQL, WebLogic is a plus. Experience: Information Technology (IT) systems experience with an emphasis on DB Administration, systems administration, and network architectures. Expert in Document Management Systems with solid knowledge of Army Personnel Records, Sun Solaris 10, Oracle 11g, Mass Storage Systems technology with an emphasis on Storage Area Network (SAN) technology, Knowledge of DoD or Army security requirements.
