The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA), is a private, non-profit national organization dedicated to finding the cure for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. CCFA seeks an independent contractor to moderate an online education support program (OESP) for patients affected by Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. OESP will be an established weekly web-based program that meets over the course of four weeks with monthly cycles. Participants will receive educational material to review prior to each weekly session. As the support group facilitator, you will guide the discussion each week and provide support electronically via online chats. This is an excellent opportunity to grow and utilize your support, education, counseling and referral skills to assist individuals living with and managing Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will work with the Patient & Professional Services department and be responsible for facilitating a weekly 90 minute online education support group and related support needs for this program. Proven ability to deal professionally and sympathetically with patients and families is a must. Chat platform and disease training will be provided during a three day training session prior to commencing moderation. Requirements: Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or similar degree Clinical/medical setting experience a plus Proven support group facilitation experience Online facilitation experience preferred Excellent written communication skills Proficiency using online tools (e.g. blogging, messaging, social media) required Availability to work 6 hours per week This is a contracted position for three (3) months with the possibility of a contract extension.
