Contract Developer
Our client has multiple contract opportunities within the Dallas Texas area. If you have most of the following skills and technologies, please forward your resume. Position #1 The successful candidate's responsibilities will include: Design and implementation of components of a real-time embedded OS Developing code to manage hardware peripherals within embedded devices Creating desktop tools to interface with embedded devices Participating in low-level debugging efforts with the ASIC, circuit board, and power groups. Debugging memory and performance issues. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Software Systems Engineering or equivalent 4 years of software development experience in C/C++ on real time embedded OS Solid understanding of real time OS concepts. Developing code to manage hardware peripherals within embedded devices Familiarity with multi-core and multi-processor implementations Creating desktop tools to interface with embedded devices Participating in low-level debugging efforts with the ASIC, circuit board, and power groups Coordinating project activities within the group, and will have ownership of certain design areas ADDITIONAL ASSETS Experience with developing test engineering systems, windows applications, and drivers to interact with BlackBerry devices, using a variety of languages and programming. Experience with QNX, Linux, VxWork Position #2 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Software Systems Engineering or equivalent plus 4 years of experience with Mobile wireless SW development using C/C++. Solid understanding the physical layer and it interaction with upper layers in radio protocol stack(L2, L3) Hands-on experience using embedded debuggers and system profiling tools Broad understanding of different wireless technologies (LTE/HSDPA/HSUPA/WCDMA, GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 802.11). Subject matter expert in at least 2 of these technologies. Knowledge of specific wireless standards specifications such as 3GPP (cdma2000 1x/1xEVDO) and 3GPP2 (GSM/EDGE/HSPA/LTE) Solid understanding of cellular network infrastructure and how mobile interacts with carrier networks. Good understanding of data technologies (ipv4, ipv6, tcp/ip, IMS) ADDITIONAL ASSETS Experience in low-level programming and protocol stack debugging Real-time OS firmware development environment and debugging on multi-processor hardware architectures. Knowledge of DSP algorithms and architectures Understanding of RF hardware programming, analog/digital hardware, radio components in RF chain and associated control loop algorithms (AFC,AGC,APC) is plus Position #3 Development and debugging of ActionScript and C++ code Investigating product issues and working with other teams to bring them through to resolution Understanding and ensuring product requirements are satisfied for product launch in areas of responsibility Using latest software for the handheld being worked on, and reporting the issues found during day ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline 5 years of software applications development experience (prior experience in wireless domain preferred – knowledge of LTE is highly beneficial) OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline 2 years of software applications development experience (prior experience in wireless domain preferred – knowledge of LTE is highly beneficial) Strong C++ application programming and QT experience Familiarity with object oriented, client-server and multi-threaded design Understanding of configuration and defect management tools (preferably MKS experience) Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills Demonstrated oral and written communication skills Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and meet aggressive deadlines Highly motivated individual who is able to learn quickly ADDITIONAL ASSETS C, HTML5 or ActionScript programming experience Experience developing applications for BlackBerry, Android, iPhone, WinCE/PocketPC, Symbian or PalmOS Experience with performance analysis and improvement on mobile platforms. Position #4 4 years of Wireless Software Test experience · Excellent knowledge of wireless communication technologies with strong focus on LTE and understanding of CDMA, and eHRPD protocols; · Protocol stack test experience, demonstrated ability to work with radio designers to debug issues via handset log analysis · Excellent understanding of LTE/CDMA standards with focus on signaling layer, inter-RAT handoff scenarios and debugging system protocol issues · Excellent understanding of mobile phone software and hardware architecture is required and system design experience would be an asset · Hands on experience with test tools e.g. wireless network emulators used in LTE protocol testing such as Spirent/Anritsu/R&S and solid understanding of LTE network topology and deployments · Strong interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams on projects · Proficient communicator · Ability to understand complex subject matter across different technologies and draw comparisons · Must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills · Ability to quickly grasp and learn new technical concepts · Ability to measure and contrast key performance indicators between products · Availability to travel internationally sometimes under short notice is an asset · Experience mentoring others Additional Assets Experience with handsets carrier acceptance testing Knowledge of UMTS and other 3GPPP Access Technology and standards is a plus Understanding and working knowledge of the wireless network architecture and messaging between the different network component
