The successful candidate must demonstrate solid written and verbal communication skills as well as a professional demeanor. Travel is a key component to this role. Candidate must be willing to travel full-time during peak installation season, which is September – March. When not travelling, candidate with provide in-office phone support. Responsibilities: Must be able to incur travel expenses including airfare, hotel room, rental car, etc. until expenses are reimbursed. During peak travel times, the candidate will be on the road 100% of the time. Off-peak times when not travelling the candidate will perform phone support in the office. Be able to manage server installations and upgrades on-site. Work on-site in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines with no supervision. Obtain all necessary site installation information to insure a full understanding of scope and expectations. Conduct hardware installation using established procedures. Make all possible efforts to insure installation is completed with a neat and clean appearance. Perform appropriate escalation procedures to resolve the following potential installation issues: DOA or equipment damaged in shipment. Incorrect or short shipments. Equipment failures that occur during on-site installation period. Identify, describe and work with appropriate departments to resolve hardware installation issues. Identify action items for client for issues unresolved during the on-site visit. Conduct system and peripheral configuration using established procedures. Perform configuration changes as needed to resolve unexpected site issues. Ability to lift at least 75lbs. Off season non-travel responsibilities: Remotely troubleshoot and resolve technical issues over the phone for our customers within a Windows Terminal Server environment, involving Dell PowerEdge servers, Fortinet firewalls, tape backups and supported printers. Administer changes to their Fortinet firewalls and setup VPN connectivity. Document resolutions in our call tracking system. Develop strong working relationships with customers and other team members. Required Knowledge and Skills: S trong knowledge of Terminal Services (Windows 2008 and 2003) and thin client configuration is a must. Ability to successfully troubleshoot computer hardware, software and peripheral related problems Provide solutions to computing problems with a high level of accuracy and quality. Proven experience installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting and repairing software, hardware and peripherals. Practical experience related to the establishment and maintenance of LANs and WANs in a business environment , for example, must understand how to subnet a network for connectivity between locations. Strong Organization and time-management skills. Must be self-directed and work with a minimum of supervision. Must be goal and results orientated with a strong work ethic. Skilled with both verbal and written communications to explain technical concepts and procedures to non-technical users. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and credit card for expenses.
