Kforce is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to work with a Columbus, Ohio client. The selected consultant will work with BSA partners and I/O Engineering and Operations resources to collect and present demand information impacting our client's Teradata, Netezza, and Distributed Storage environments. The Infrastructure Planning Engineer provides the leadership, requirements, and facilitation to develop IT Infrastructure Plans. This includes the delivery of an ROI-based portfolio of infrastructure initiatives to manage risk, drive unit cost downward, and provide for hardware and software currency and new infrastructure solutions. The Infrastructure Planning Engineer role is also responsible for: Coordination of the execution of the I/O portfolio of initiatives Creation of portfolio reports that include adherence to milestones, financials, and various reporting of the infrastructure portfolio by the BSA Team Strategic alignment, prioritization, and ability to deliver infrastructure projects (through processes like Plan Days which integrates priorities for infrastructure projects and application projects) Collection and analysis of infrastructure capacity trends and consumption planning Coordination of associate productivity solution usage and adoption with associates, agents, and business leaders Serve as an expert in hardware / software systems engineering Undertake the most complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge Make well 'thought-out' decisions on the most complex or ambiguous hardware / software systems engineering issues Ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency Design, develop, test, debug, and implement the most complex hardware / software components, tools, and utilities Undergraduate studies in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field are strongly preferred. Additional specific functions include your ability to make the most complex modifications to existing hardware / software to fit specialized needs and configurations. Establish and communicate common goal and direction for the Team. Act as a source of direction, training, and guidance for less experienced staff through formal and informal mentoring. Monitor project schedules and costs.
