Program Manager Search & Keywording Start ASAP 3+ month contract Bellevue, WA Analyzing queries, search-engine results and features, keyword optimization or information science, Office apps, Excel, VBA (Visual Basic Access), SQL, PERL, SEO, Library Sciences Job Description Primary task is to determine the search terms that should cause the search results page to include links to certain features, such as web search Secondary tasks include monitoring and evaluating the performance of such triggers. Start: ASAP, Regular, 40-hr weeks are preferred but we can be flexible to accommodate employee schedules. Anticipate the work will continue for at least 3 months but with other expirations coming up there's definitely potential for extension. Required Experience: Experience and expertise in analyzing queries for user intent Great judgment in evaluating the quality of search-engine results and features Capability to quickly master a varied set of tools and multiple internal processes Excellent English skills and broad Internet subject-area familiarity. Experience/training in keyword optimization or information science. Orientation to detail and perfection Experience with search keywording, whether in a Web environment or other information-retrieval system, or explicit training such as a library- or information-science degree Ability to manage data in bulk with common Office apps such as Excel and a variety of internal tools Demonstrated ability to use words well, properly, and according to style policies. Broad intellectual horizons and familiarity with the world of the Web that allow you to work with queries on many different topics and people. Love of getting the details right. This work requires making thousands of small decisions, quickly and conscientiously, implementing policies of relevance and appropriateness that depend on your sound editorial judgment. Technical aptitude, which might be demonstrated by proficiency in VBA (Visual Basic Access), SQL, PERL, or the like, is a plus.
