Linux-based C++ Engineer . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Primary responsibilities for this Austin, Texas client's Engineer position: Maintain and enhance parts of a deployed distributed system written in C++ and running in UNIX and Linux Systems Understand, implement, and extend the current system to add new functionality Perform data analysis and performance evaluation / tuning necessary to validate changes to the processing software Support customers in interfacing with the system Provide support in resolving problems; during testing and on deployed systems Interview Process includes: candidate submits their resume, completed screen questions, and sample code to a team lead Sample code should show generic (templates) and Object-Oriented programming There will be a 1 hour telephone screen The in person interview will take approximately 4 hours The successful Linux-based C++ Engineer applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): 5+ years of C++ programming Strong UNIX background, especially Linux Solid knowledge of STL and generic programming Experience with application profiling and performance tuning Experience with development tools, especially GNU collection (Make, Binutils, etc.) Experience with Subversion or other version control systems Unit testing Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States of America. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Desired Skills / Experience: Experience with C++ Boost libraries or similar framework (QT, etc.) Familiarity with RF signals and signal processing Experience with UNIX Shells (bash / ksh / sh) and Shell scripting
