ETL/Data Warehouse Specialist 6+ month contract- Richmond, VA Primary function: Technical Resource for Consumer Banking Inforrmation Delivery Business Intelligence / Reporting Developer This position will serve as a technical resource to develop reporting for the Consumer Banking business users. Candidate will be able to perform in several different roles, including: Take business and system requirements, analysis and design of report specifications, and from this develop Cognos reports, dashboards, scorecards, cubes and portal pages. They will then peform unit test and create documentation. Another function of this resource will be to build queries (using SQL) to pull data from SQL Server and Oracle databases.. This sometimes involves creating complex Excel spreadsheets. The resource may also be assigned with designing and implementing databases for the purpose of producing reports. The candidate must have demonstrated ability to work with SQLsvr and DTS packages for the purpose of loading data. Other database knowledge (Oracle, DB2) a plus. Technical experience required: Demonstrated ability to develop in Cognos Framework Manager, Report Studio, and Analysis Studio for version 10.1 and above. Demonstrated ability to develop dashboards and scorecards with Cognos. Demonstrated ability to develop multi-dimensional cubes with Cognos. Demonstrated ability to develop portal pages with Cognos. SQL Server 2000/SQL Server 2008 (including: Querying, stored procedures, DTS packages, SSIS packages, tables, views) Database projects such as converting DTS to SSIS, ETL, migrating stored procedures, views, and tables. General support of departmental IT needs. Experience Required: 3-5 years relevant work experience as a SQL Server and Cognos developer. Skills (Must Have): Work experience in SQL Server 2000/2008 and Cognos as listed above. Must demonstrate problem-solving skills. Skills (Preferred): Work experience converting DTS to SSIS Work experience with ETL Work experience migrating/upsizing SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2008 Education: 4 year college degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent work experience. Bachelors degree and 9+ years progressive work related experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/processes related to the position or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
