The successful candidate will be an accomplished WebSphere Portal and Spring Services Developer. S/he will be responsible for ongoing development and maintenance of the IBM WebSphere Portal & Spring Services application supporting the production intranet sites, in an UNIX environment (i.e. AIX, Linux). S/he will be part of a development team that is enhancing the feature set on the intranet, IBM portal based system. Job Responsibilities: * Responsible for designing, developing and unit test components in a highly iterative and agile manner for IBM WebSphere Portal and Spring Services * S/he will also be responsible for Design and Development of JSR168, servlets, JSPs and deploying the same to IBM WebSphere Environment * Responsible for writing Data access components using Java/JDBC and Spring and Hibernate * Create Themes, Personalization, and Single Sign On Integration and integrate portlets * Quickly learn and come up to speed in a new environment and follow standards * Responsible for coordinating with team members to achieve desired results and possible mentoring of junior programmers whenever there is a need * Proactively identifying issues in development and bring up the same to the attention of tech lead or management attention at the very early stages. Ability to learn from team mates and solving issues quickly with the help of more knowledgeable team mates in that technology * Be able to take work direction from the project's Tech Lead and work within a small (3 to 5) project team * Will follow change management and incident procedures and policies Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates degree is the minimum requirement * Six to Eight years of technical experience in development of web applications using JAVA/J2EE * Extensive Portal 6.X experience required * Hands on experience in JSR 168 compliant, portlet design and development, preferably in an IBM portal environment - 2 to 4 years * Strong experience with Java, J2EE web application design, development of servlets, jsps, JSTL and good understanding of MVC framework - minimum 4 years * Strong experience with Spring-Hibernate Framework and development of Spring Services using Spring Remoting * Strong experience with writing complex SQLs, DB Triggers and Procedures * Strong experience in coding unit tests with JUNIT * Experience with JavaScript, html, XML, DOJO and CSS in support of web application development * Experience with design and development of data access component in Java with SQL knowledge * Experience using IDEs like Eclipse, MyEclipse or IBM RAD and deploying artifacts to IBM WebSphere Application Server environment * Troubleshooting, developing and supporting the applications on WebSphere Portal and WebSphere Application Server * Must have an intimate understanding of how portlet applications are assembled and deployed in JSR168 standard Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with IBM WebSphere Portal 7 * Work experience on application using Oracle database * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Strong communication skills * Strong ability to lead and work as part of a team
