TEKsystems is currently looking for a Computer Operator for a client in Topeka, KS. This is a contract to hire position. The Computer Operator will: Perform and communicate aspects of problem identification, escalation and resolution. The Production Operator 1 also produces and processes corporate reports and product labels. Manages production program schedule execution on mainframe and distributed computer systems to support the information needs of the business. Monitors the availability and performance of business systems and the successful completion of the transaction processing required to meet the needs of the business Troubleshoots and resolves basic issues and escalate more complex issues to ensure business service levels are met. Prints and distributes corporate reports and processes, packages and ships various printed items. Technology-Specific Qualifications Required - Microsoft PC-OS: XP, Vista, 7 - MS Office Suite - Able to lift 60 lbs repeatedly throughout a day Preferred but not required - IBM-MVS - IBM S370 JCL - Microsoft Server 2003, 2008 Must Have: Basic Knowledge of Data Center Operations Basic Job-Specific Technical Knowledge Basic Knowledge of how to get things done in the job's environment Basic computer knowledge, including job-specific software programs Candidates must be comftorable working 3rd shift.
