We are currently representing an excellent long-term contract opportunity for an experienced IT Project Manager.   PMP certification or PMBOK training is highly desirable   This is a high visibility position with one of the best Albany area corporations.    This senior Project Manager will over-see large-scale systems implementation and infrastructure up-grade.   Knowledge of IT processes and/or procedures and 'Best Practices' surrounding Infrastructure projects is ideal.   We're seeking a highly capable individual with strong leadership skills who is experienced with defining project parameters, scheduling tasks, reporting to senior executives and leading matrixed teams.    Working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment this Project Manager will facilitate and coordinate all project activities from inception through completion of entire systems implementation of complex vendor software.  The Project Manager will also be responsible for the coordination of large teams from various technical and business units within the client plus additional team member from the vendor.  Will identify appropriate resources and staff projects, organize project teams and ensure communication and understanding of deadlines, assignments and objectives, act as primary point of contact between client management and vendor.  Will also manage costs, schedules and quality by overseeing project deliverables. Ensures schedule and budget are met. Identifies need for change, determines course of action and revises as appropriate.  Identifies and mitigates associated risks.   Requirements:  A PMP certification or PMBOK training is highly desired for this contract position.  Demonstrated track record for leading and completing successful IT or Infrastructure projects  Supervision/direction of IT Project Teams – over-sight of matrixed team is highly desirable. Excellent leadership and organizational abilities Strong communication skills and ability work effectively with senior management. Very strong initiative and ability to take ownership of projects.
