Sr Technical PM-Program Manager
Experis is looking for a Sr level PM/Program Manager for a contract position with one of our clients in Washington, DC Client requires a F2F interview so candidates must be local to the area. Candidate must have experience leading a Windows 7 migration REQUIRED SKILLS: -At least 8-10 years experience, in manager role as Senior Technical Project Manager, Tech Lead, or Program Manager -Previous experience in z/TPF projects & Strong Windows desktop operating systems and applications -Must be highly experienced in the discipline of application/data base development production support and every aspect of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) -Technical skills in desktop technologies -Strong written and verbal communication skills -Demonstrated initiative, planning and leadership with strong Project Management skills and technical exposure -Lead interactions between customers and technical development team to evaluate Design, Development issues -Takes ownership of tasks assigned and identifies possible gaps and resolves or escalates to management. -Lead Project Meetings and follow-up, issues, risk management -Experience with end-user complex user deployments. -MS Project/PWA/Share point -Legacy systems (IBM z/TPF ) -TPF Toolkit -Relational Data Bases, Data Modeling Tools -Web Services -Windows -Excel/PowerPoint -Visio NICE TO HAVE SKILLS: -PMP Certification -ITILv3 Foundation -Experience with travel industry reservation and ticketing systems -Infrastructure background -SQL Server -Oracle RESPONSIBILITIES: -The client has over ten thousand desktops, laptops and thin client devices that run some variant of an Windows XP based image. -These devices will need to be replaced and/or reconfigured for the current Windows 7 operating system. -These devices must be kept current with security patching which is only available for with Microsoft support of the operating system in use on the device. -The program team will execute modernization activities to transform client's desktop environment. This will include working with GIO teams to identify all applications that need to be supported in the transition to Windows 7, and coordinating the testing, and any required remediation. -Additionally, this will project will cover developing and implementing a deployment strategy including all appropriate client communication to make the project successful. -Technical lead of Analysis/Design/Development of application testing and field deployment to a large scale environment. -Lead technical resources effectively with clear planned tasks, schedules, monitoring and reporting -Provide consultation for efforts related to testing, application compatibility remediation, deployment planning and deployments of the new desktop environment. -Provide weekly reports on technical status, issues, risks and mitigation -Provide the required Software Development Life Cycle artifacts for quality deliverables
