Greetings, I have a novel coming out next summer, a heartbreaking but hilarious dysfunctional family story (family is Jewish, living in 1980's Pittsburgh). The book has been read by the producer of Little Miss Sunshine. They love it, but as a small prod co, they do not have script-development money. They expressed enthusiastic interest, though, in reading a script if one can be written. The book has many layers and strands and it will need a screenwriter capable of finding the heart of the story to simplify it.
