SAP PI Technical Specialist
The PI Technical Specialist provides expertise to the SAP Support organization by providing administration and technical support of SAP PI and selected integrated applications. The PI Technical Specialist provides the day-to-day configuration and administration support for one or more applications or products that are deployed to the Production Environment. Responsibilities *Resolve application administration related incidents escalated from the Business Service Center and Service Desk teams *Review and approve technical specifications for PI interfaces to ensure adherence to PI standards *Perform PI development to enhance/create interfaces to support business needs *Monitor system security, application and system event log files *Communicate and work with support users as necessary to resolve application errors *Escalate incidents, as necessary, to the appropriate team or vendor, while actively retaining ownership of the incident on behalf of the users. Notify users of resolutions. *Seek opportunities to develop and maintain knowledge of business processes, application functionality, configuration and administrative activities *Help with regular reviews and analysis of Incident Management data to highlight causes of frequent or high impact failures and suggest preventative action *Recommend operational continuous improvement opportunities, service efficiency initiatives, and business process improvement to better serve business needs *Meet agreed upon service levels and budgetary guidelines defined in the Service Level Agreement *Provide operational support, working to ensure production systems and devices are online and available; this includes non-business hours on-call support *Participate in minor enhancement design reviews to verify that design meets quality and technical standards, as well as functional/technical requirements *Make recommendations on functional and technical improvements to the application *Understand and fine-tune existing interfaces; develop new interfaces as needed within the scope of maintenance and enhancement opportunities within SAP Support organization Required Qualifications *Bachelor's degree *3 years experience in Java programming *3 years experience in Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) *2 years experience with PI 7.0 or higher Preferred Qualifications *Experience with configuration aspects of PI including Basis *Strong technical skills in all areas of PI including: PI Workbench, PI Integration Builder, PI Enterprise Service Builder, PI System Landscape Directory and NetWeaver Administrator *Full understanding of PI mapping techniques, and PI Adaptor configuration including JMS, JDBC, webServices, SOAP, iDoc, and RFC proxy *In depth knowledge of XML, XSLT, WebServices and SAML standards *In depth knowledge of PI infrastructure architecture *Experience with deploying PI across an enterprise *Knowledge and understanding of software development and testing methodologies *Knowledge and understanding of operational support processes (e.g. ITIL) *Experience using BMC Remedy *Deep working experience in implementing and supporting applicable technologies *Working knowledge with tool suites to enable applicable technologies *Strong customer relationship skills *Able to work non-traditional hours when requested *Effectively participate in virtual, global and distributed teams *Comfortable with ambiguity, active inquiry skills, strong written communication skills *Strong troubleshooting and technical analysis skills
