Business Analyst
Under general supervision, assist the organization in making strategic data-related decisions by analysing, manipulating, tracking, internally managing and reporting data. Leads, makes significant contributions, and/or provides technical leadership to high visibility projects to identify and resolve issues of strategic importance to the organization. Designs and generates complex SQL queries for data mining and extraction. Designs research plans for data gathering and analysis. Participates significantly in interpreting analyses and developing action plans accordingly. Defines and frames complex multi-dimensional Revenue Cycle issues and develops time tables/processes for decision making. Compiling and distributing scheduled reports, automating batch jobs for reports, resolve break/fix issues with existing reports, developing dashboard metrics, perform data mining/analysis Essential Functions: Develops reports with accurate, easy to read, useful information in Crystal Reports, Excel or Access. Designs and generates tracking and monitoring tools. Participates in the development of outcomes and process measures, including technical specifications, to enable population measurement, guideline implementation, and evaluation. Builds sophisticated statistical models and forecasting tools. Defines and frames complex multi-dimensional health care issues and develops time tables/processes for decision making. Translates needs, issues, and ideas into effective strategies and action plans. Formulates specific implementation plans and monitors and evaluates their effectiveness. Develops creative alternative solutions. May coordinate team/project activities and schedules. May assist in the determination of goals and priorities with team, clients, or project management sponsors. May provide leadership to multi-disciplinary project teams. Communicates results/recommendations to project sponsors, clients, and various senior level audiences. Basic Qualifications: SQL, Excel, Data Analysis Bachelor degree in economics, finance, health care administration, public health administration, statistics, mathematics, operations research, or related field required. Typically five (5) or more years of related business analysis experience. Microsoft Office skills required. Basic knowledge of relational database structures, tables and datasets. Experience with analytical manipulation and interpretation of large databases required. Very strong analytic and critical thinking skills, writing skills, communication skills, consulting skills, and ability to work within a team. Ability to express complex analytical and technical information to senior management or to audiences with clinical training. Must be an independent self-starter. Preferred Qualifications: Masters Degree Revenue Cycle and/or Medical Coding experience Epic certification or equivalent work experience Mid to large project management experience Advanced Skill Level: Crystal Reports or Business Objects Advanced Skill Level: Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint Advanced Skill Level: Teradata, MS SQL Server, or Oracle Experience with building dashboards or web development Work Environment: Member of PMO Data Team with most interactions occurring with data analysts as well as project managers. May also work with other consultants and Directors within the department. Scope of the project: Support the Revenue Cycle PMO Data Team with maintaining published reports, developing dashboard metrics, and developing reports based on ad hoc requests.
