Project Software Lead
Our client's Carrollton, Texas office seeks a Project Software Lead to support its division in developing and deploying security solutions that facilitate protection of the nation's critical infrastructure. The job responsibilities for this position are as follows: * Perform day-to-day management of technical activities related to software development and system integration on assigned project(s) * Participate in all aspects of system installation and configuration on assigned projects(s) * Participate in on-site installation and commissioning for assigned projects(s) * Assist the project manager in the development of project plans, managing project budget and scheduling * Heavy customer interface is required The goals for the first 6 months to a year are as follows: * Act as Project Software Lead on assigned project(s) with many more over the span of 3+ years * Ensure assigned project(s) is completed on schedule, within budget, and with customer satisfaction * Ensure all company ISO, CMMI, and software engineering policies and procedures are followed on assigned project(s) * Acquire knowledge of client's Security Systems, products and services * Establish effective communications and working relationships with project and/or department customers, team members, and management The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): * Five (5) or more years of experience in application design, implementation, and installation of real-time process control systems * Five (5) or more years of experience in systems integration including all phases of the software/system development life cycle is required * Two (2) or more years in a lead role are preferred Candidates must also have experience with the following: * C/C++ * C# * Visual Studio 2005 / 2008 / 2010 * Oracle (or other relational database) * Crystal Reports * Microsoft Operating Systems * Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Office, and Project) * Software development life cycle * Software configuration management * Strong organizational skills * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to interface with vendors and customers (internal and external) * Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment * The desire to learn new technologies and apply to those to current and future projects Desired Experience: * Direct experience with real-time, computer based, process control systems Education Requirements: * A BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical area is required * An MS Degree is preferred Travel Requirements: 25%
