Work Activities - On-going Oracle E-Business Production Support Standard Requests Code Migration Configuration/Personalization Concurrent Manager Configuration Oracle E-Business Patching (DB Tier and Application Tier) Performance trouble shooting and enhancement System trouble shooting User provisioning (DB and Apps Tier) Standard Maintenance Backup/Restore assurance (Verification of Backups – Ad hoc Backups) using Oracle RMAN and Commvault Operating System Patching, Oracle E-Business System Recycling Cloning SDLC environments refresh (planned and emergency) Skills & Experience: 6 years of relevant work experience. In-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems, including WINDOWS, Linux and UNIX. Experience with SDLC and Assurance processes. Understanding of general IT architecture: network, firewalls, storage, web applications, ftp servers, application servers, etc. Good written and oral communication skills. Good technical architecture and technical support documentation skills. Good interpersonal and consultative skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. College degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering. Certifications: Oracle Certified Professional (DBA or Apps). Service & Deliverables: System cloning. The resource will clone various modules of the water billing system to create SDLC instances including various interfaces. Regression testing will be carried against the cloned instances and will have to pass production readiness criteria. Provisioning and management of end users: The resource will provision end users with required privileges and profile. User testing will verify that the resource completed the provisionning correctly. Backup and recovery: The resource will demonstrate their ability to backup and recover various tiers of the Water Billing System by executing backup and recovery scenarios set by the project team. Regression testing will verify that the recovered instances pass production readiness criteria. Patching and maintenance: The resource will patch and implement changes in the various SDLC (solution development life cycle) at the application, database, and operating system tier level. The changes will have to pass production readiness criteria when submitted to regression testing. Emergency production support: The resource may have to intervene off hours (week night and weekend) to remediate production issues.
