Our client is in need of a talented Sr. Systems Developer/Systems Development Specialist with J2EE background for a 6 month temporary assignment in their Austin, TX location. The Sr. Systems Developer/Systems Development Specialist duties will include, but not be limited to the following: Leadership of the Software Development Team that designs and develops mission critical, large-scale, high-available, multi-tiered, transactional enterprise systems; work in collaboration and lead other members of the project team to guarantee quality and timely delivery of enterprise applications; estimate and plan development work needed to implement assigned tasks; convert complex requirements enterprise-level solution that are both working and maintainable; perform detailed application design when appropriate and necessary; write and maintain design and technical documentation; offer leadership to team members in order to deliver high quality systems as scheduled. Requirements: The Ideal Candidate will possess the following Education and Experience/Skills: - Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science or a related field (an M.S. in computer science is preferred). - Must have 5 or more years of industry experience, to include some technical leadership. - Must have 5 or more years experience with J2EE development. - Must have 3 to 5 years experience in software development of database driven software using at least one of the major databases (Oracle preferred). - Must have experience with high-volume, transaction processing/production systems. - Must have sills in the area of object oriented analysis, design and programming. - Must have database programming and querying knowledge. - Must have working experience using a recognized software development lifecycle methodology, such as Agile or Rup or any of the other recognized methods. - Must have Technical Leadership ability and experience in order to lead both onshore and offshore development teams. - Must have experience support project managers as a technical liaison. - Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to interface successfully with all levels in an organization, including onshore project managers, clients and general office personnel in a very fast paced and dynamic small company environment. -Must be able to work as part of a technical team. - Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to creatively solve problems. - Experience with Financial Systems is a plus **Local Candidates are Highly Preferred** ***Volt Workforce Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer***
