Experis is seeking a Field Service Technician II (contract to hire) in New Orleans, LA. The position will interact with customers on a daily basis and must have sharp organizational skills as to schedule customer visits and meet the target time given to complete tasks. The position requires candidates to solve various, possibly complex computer and network infrastructure related problems in a timely fashion. Experience with Windows XP, Windows 7, MS Office, MS USMT, Cisco switches and Dell computer hardware is expected. Must be able to work as a team player as well as individually. Travel is a must up to 50% in the US and 80% in Louisiana. Candidate may be out of town for 6-8 weeks at a time. Travel expenses are reimbursed but the candidate must possess enough credit to pay for the trips until reimbursement. Required Skills: Advanced troubleshooting abilities consisting of Windows XP/ Windows 7 operating systems, network infrastructure, network configuration and PC hardware. Experience supporting Microsoft Office 2003/2007/2010 5+ years experience in a PC support role preferably with training / certifications in A+, Network +, as well has MS, Cisco, or Nortel. Associate Degree in IT related field. Position includes providing storm support to our customers. Must be willing and able to stay in New Orleans with customers before and after a storm. Must be a great communicator both orally and in written form. Must be capable of following detailed processes as prescribed by the project team. Ability to use common sense to carry out instructions and activities. Must be capable of lifting and carrying 20-40 pounds for extended periods Must possess a valid driver's license Desired Skills: Familiarity with Windows XP, ability to diagnose and repair Dell hardware (desktop, laptop and printers) Experience configuring, installing and supporting Nortel and Cisco switches is a plus Ability to communicate well with customers face to face and gather information needed to properly diagnose problems
