Webmaster - Web Infrastructure
Description Position Summary: The Webmaster’s main responsibility is to deploy, administer, monitor, back up, and maintain (deploying upgrades) the Company’s Linux and Unix servers. The Webmaster is involved in the configuration and administration of web servers, supporting the Company’s Internet, Extranet and Intranet applications. This position is also responsible to support the web infrastructure by monitoring and troubleshooting production issues, and if unable to resolve, escalating to appropriate associates/management in the manner required. Please note that this is a 2nd shift position - Sunday night to Thursday night 4pm – 1am. Major Responsibilities: - Build and maintain Linux based web, application, SiteMinder, LDAP and Oracle RAC environments. This includes planning, analysis and design as well as quality assurance. - Perform process analysis and improvement in relation to management the environment. - Compile, install, and configure, and administer Apache, IBM WebSphere and JBoss servers - Manage and monitor F5 LTM, SkyBot, Veritas NetBackup, ADIC tape libraries, CA Siteminder, SunOne Ldap, Apache web servers, WebSphere application servers, Jboss application servers and Oracle RAC Database servers. - Manage and monitor Sitescope, Siteseer and HypericHQ monitoring tools - Must be able to be available 24 x 7 x 365 to support mission critical applications with an on-call rotation. - Excellent communication skills as this position will interact with all levels of management and vendors. - Other projects and/or tasks as assigned by the Manager Qualifications - Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equal experience level - 2+ years of project management experience - 5+ years of Linux server administration experience - Expert Linux skills are a must - Expert IBM WebSphere Application Server and/or JBoss skills are a must - Expert Web Application environment troubleshooting is a must - Expert level troubleshooting skills and use of tools such as HTTPWatch, NMAP, GREP, TOP, NETSTAT, VMSTAT, TCPDUMP - Expert level knowledge of Linux/WebSphere scripting tools such as CRON, PERL, PYTHON, PHP, AWK, JACL, JYTHON, shell script etc. - Technical writing skills and the ability to create professional business case & proposals - Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail - Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required
