Job Description Consultant - Governance Specialist Basking Ridge, NJ Our newly formed organization (Operational Excellence and Process Transformation) is designed to improve the value Verizon delivers to its customers, employees and shareowners by identifying and implementing process improvements that will create a more efficient, effective and agile company. The Consultant - Governance Specialist is responsible for assisting in developing and driving governance strategies, under the Operational Excellence and Process Transformation (OEPT) charter for transforming the business. The Consultant - Governance will aide in driving processes that ensure governance over newly designed business solutions. They will ensure new processes and systems are stood up with the appropriate controls in place and ensure old processes and systems are shut down and no longer being utilized. They will provide governance support to business units related to process improvement initiatives. Must align and integrate the governance process with the Verizon Lean Six Sigma (VLSS) process and principles. Required Skills & Experience * Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent work experience * 1-3 years of experience in the field of Operational Compliance/ Governance or Audit * Exposure to financial/accounting disciplines, sales channel operations, and knowledge of work tools, processes and policies in governance related roles * Ability to drive change and process improvement efforts with a focus on risk management and controls * Strong analytical, investigative, problem solving, and decision making skills * Strong communication skills (verbal and written skills); ability to communicate with varying levels of management * Ability to perform in a dynamic environment with varying project initiatives and focus areas across different lines of business; adaptable to change and ability to multitask * Ability to work independently with strong follow-up, organization and prioritization skills with excellent attention to detail * Must also be an effective team player, who can work with other people with, often cross functional, cross BU come to a common solution. * Self-starter, highly motivated Desired Skills & Experience * Graduate degree and/or related professional certifications (CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE) preferred * Experience in Lean Six Sigma framework and tools application preferred * Knowledge of auditing principals and methods preferred Industry: Consultant
