C#/.NET Programmer PORTLAND, OR Responsibilities Utilize SQL to perform data modeling tasks and manipulate data in Microsoft databases Perform maintenance on client’s outage software in a variety of programming languages. Utilize programming languages to produce text, HTML, and Excel-based outage reports (including charts). Support development activities throughout the software development life cycle; namely planning, implementation, testing and documentation, deployment and maintenance Suggest changes in data collection and reporting processes based on SME’s interpretation of national and regional reporting requirements Work with users to design custom web-based tools to interface with transmission reference and outage databases Make presentations to various groups regarding outage process Provide recommendations for system hardware and software upgrades as they relate to maintained code Comply with client's standards on cyber security Provide emergency and backup support for existing systems and functions. Required to provide personal contact information (phone numbers only) for emergency call outs, carry a supplied cell phone/pager (if applicable), and work non-core hours when requested. May be required to work on an after-hours on-call rotation with other team members Other duties as may be assigned Qualifications BS degree, preferably in computer science or related field is required 1-4 years relevant experience Familiar with software industry best practices for code development, critical system deployment, and software documentation Minimum 2 years experience with up to date version(s) of the Visual Studio Integrated Development Environment (IDE) Strong background in C#, and scripting languages required (DOS/Powershell) Ability to produce and maintain ASP.NET web applications, web services, and console-based applications using C# Experience with XML schemas and data structures Demonstrated ability to design and query Microsoft databases using SQL Advanced knowledge of Excel and ability to programmatically generate spreadsheets Experience using the Aspose Cells API Experience making configuration changes to Microsoft’s IIS Knowledge of Microsoft file, folder, and DCOM security controls Knowledge of how different hardware upgrades or resource allocations will affect performance of Microsoft’s Server O/S in both virtual and non-virtual configurations. Ability to clearly present data in generated reports Business knowledge about outage information and components used in the electric utility industry is preferred. Familiarity with common ratings used in electric utility equipment is preferred. Must have experience with MS Office Suite applications (MS Office 2010 proficiency required).
