We are looking for a Programmer Analyst on behalf of our client, Fidelity Investments. This position is based in Boston, MA. Summary Our programmer analyst will perform new development, maintenance and enhancements to existing applications running in a mainframe environment. This includes: analyzing, designing, functional analysis, application design and support, coding, unit testing, testing/QA, debugging, unit and environment integration. The programmer analyst will have a good understanding of relevant business concepts and practices. Full project life cycle experience may be required. Under limited supervision, this individual will assume a key role in designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting Investment Compliance iSeries (AS/400) applications. Responsibilities include analysis, design, testing, implementation, functional decomposition, data extracts, and documentation as appropriate. The successful individual will work with the project leader and user community for project definition, and with technical team members to design solutions to business problems. Responsibilities Provide coding, testing, and implementation of AS400solutions Focus on developing applications that meet user specification and expectations Work with other team members to understand business requirements and propose flexible solutions Provide specifications and designs in support of application development Have a minimum of five (5) years of programming and analysis experience. Possess an understanding of development methodologies, and experience with all stages of the development life cycle. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Have strong iSeries (AS/400) RPG IV, free, ILE, and SQL development skills. Have proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Additional exposure to Visio preferred. Have experience in an environment with distributed systems. Have demonstrated ability to work independently, and to interact with team members. Comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Experience in financial services industry is a strong plus. Experience in global operations, and/or 24x7 support a strong plus.
