Internet Systems Engineer (Weblogic, Webserver, IIS) – 3 – 6 months - £300 - £350 pd Position A vacancy has arisen in the Infrastructure Managed Services Internet team for an Internet Systems Engineer responsible for 3rd level administration, support, development and day-to-day maintenance of Enterprise-level Internet and Intranet infrastructure and layered applications. Technologies include content management, web and application servers, web analytics, content delivery networks, and SMS. Essential Skills: 3rd level support - incident, change, problem Internet technologies Weblogic 8.2 Sun One Webserver IIS The following skills are desirable Adobe Communique 5  (or potentially other CMS) Main Roles & Responsibilities · Investigate and resolve service calls and incidents · Identify and progress problems · Raise, manage and implement changes · Liaise with 3rd party suppliers to resolve issues and to progress change · Coordinate activities with other development and infrastructure teams. · Implement and progress infrastructure projects. · Administer layered applications, including new installations, upgrades, patches, and configuration · Review, enhance and tune automated alerts · Maintain and enhance support documentation and expert help · Continuously improve the manageability, performance and availability of infrastructure and layered applications Profile · Proficient in incident, change and problem processes · Experienced in web technologies. · Well developed interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. · Capable of working on their own initiative and managing users expectations · A flexible and adaptable attitude · A positive temperament and a proactive approach to resolving issues · Commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. · The motivation to complete activities both individually and as a team. Normal working hours will be Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 17:00.
