Process Technologist/Chemist/Engineer

Role: • Head and Manage the Process function of the business at this prestigious site - you will eventually lead process technical development to improve cost effectiveness • To manage the Technology Transfer Process and to ensure that robust reproducible and efficient manufacturing processes are transferred into Production from R&D, contract manufacturers • To manage the validation system and develop validation strategy • To manage the process training system and develop training strategy • To be responsible for process development and improvement in the areas of cost, quality and customer service • To support the Global Manufacturing facilities providing technical support as required, working with the Regional Supply Heads to support global manufacturing and engineering strategies • To continuously review manufacturing processes on the site and at contract manufacturers to determine the most cost effective supply strategy • To determine manufacturing strategy and ensure effective implementation of change in order to achieve business goals • To ensure that the companies' strategic imperatives as they relate to the Technical Department are implemented and to ensure that business growth and profitability targets are achieved • Management of projects within budget and deadlines to ensure implementation of supply / technical strategy • Ensure that Packaging Development meets needs of Commercial / R&D / Supply areas of the business, both in terms of specific projects and ways to enhance business performance Requirements • Educated to Degree standard within a scientific discipline - Chemical Engineering is preferred • In-depth knowledge and experience of manufacturing technology • Extensive industry experience, within Pharmaceuticals and FMCG business • Knowledge of UK, EU and FDA standards and legislation • Line management experience • Ability to think across functional boundaries and to develop a commercial understanding of corporate and operational business issues • Strong analytical and problems solving skills • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence Key Words: 'Process Engineer', Chemical Engineer', Continuous Improvement Engineer', 'Process Improvement', 'Project Management', 'Manufacturing Technologies', 'Project Management'
