Vehicle Engineering Launch Coordinator
The Company: A world renowned car manufacturer, well recognised for its exquisite cars and established history. The Role: To support the New Model Launch Manager in the management and control of all vehicle engineering aspects of the launches including issues identified during DEU vehicle mileage accumulation. Requires liaison with Launch Manager, Vehicle Engineering Manager, Programme Manager, CPE, Chief Engineers and PMT areas to ensure DEU issue capture and resolution and manage the rework instruction matrix for vehicles as appropriate. The role will focus on activities post FDJ. * During Prototype builds (M1/VP) administer Re-work Instruction Sheets (RIS) matrix. * During Pre-Production Builds (TT/PP) actively manage the RIS matrix & chase up RIS owners to ensure robustness of vehicles ? that they are fit for purpose & ultimately fit for sale/next use. * Manage the Launch DEU fleet & collate, report and progress to resolution all the feedback. o Make decisions on how all comments/issues/feedback are to be progressed & document (with guidance from VEM or Launch Manager where necessary) o Manage the booking of DEUs and sharepoint based management system. o Lead a team of people to resolve issues (set up 8Ds, get support etc) where cross function input required. o Take ownership of what happens to the DEU vehicles at all times (in workshop, with External suppliers, at Nurburgring Technical centre (NTC) etc ) o Raise PWRs for rework/investigation as required. o Proactively manage the software levels on the DEU vehicles ? maintain records so that when a car is offsite or on external mileage the team know what level of software in installed. o Regularly report the DEU status at the Launch Control meeting (LCM) o Interface with the Vehicle Durability team and VEM to ensure total fleet capture of issues * Manage/lead vehicle handovers from online build (from Lead Product Coach (LPC) to owner, following VE procedures/LQOS * Setup and lead sub-system team to develop/modify road test procedures based on vehicle attribute changes ? organise familiarisation training/training of attributes & processes with team for road testers/CAL/auditors. * Manage, in conjunction with the Launch Team Electrical Engineer, the installation and running of data loggers on DEU vehicles if required. * Write/update LQOS procedures as required to drive process improvements. * Work with the Vehicle Durability team to ensure drive and route cycles that meet Durability requirements. Qualifications & Experience: * Mechanical, production or automotive Engineering Degree preferred * Extensive experience in vehicle test and development activities * R202 Trained with Attribute Evaluation Experience * Microsoft Office * Current, full driving license * Logical & analytical way of thinking & working to resolve complex issues This role would be of interest to candidates who are currently working, or have experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Prototype build, Launch Engineer.
