**LEGAL CASHIER**, BISHOPS STORTFORD, 1 YEAR MATERNITY CONTRACT, SALARY DEPENDANT ON SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Our client, a well known and established legal firm are currently looking for a Legal Cashier who will be responsible for assisting with the control and efficient running of the centralised accounting functions at the firm. The role will be an initial 1 year Maternity Contract. The main purpose of the role is to assist the Legal Cashiers and take responsibility for the specific duties as follows: Posting all Client and Office entries Incoming and outgoing telegraphic transfers Production of outgoing cheques (after checking accounts) Filing of all cash book sheets and posting slips Office and Client account bank reconciliations Posting of Bills to Clients' ledgers Transfer of Costs Balancing petty cash and writing up entries Check for any credit balances on Office account Monitor Suppliers' invoices/statements and take appropriate action Help set up and run an effective debt collecting cycle Raising and distributing monthly client statements Telephoning clients within 45 days Liaising with Fee Earners and Directors over problem and late payers Recommend accounts for legal action Bank reconciliations (showing full details of any adjustments) Check all outstanding cheques per reconciliations and take appropriate action Completion of month end routines Month end figures (to include Fees and Bank balances) to be passed to Director(s) Production of additional month end information as requested by the Accounts Supervisor and Accounts Manager Production and follow up of Debtor information Compilation and checking of Suppliers' invoices prior to payment Check for all ledgers to be closed - close and file Essential Requirements: Be fully compliant with current Money Laundering and Solicitors Accounts rules To apply for this position, please send us an up to date CV with details of your availability and salary expectations.
